| Since the close of the PotterWar/DADA campaign, we have been
talking about transforming this site into a fan protection agency of sorts.
This would have come pass much sooner after the last battle had it not been
for my recurring illness taking up most of my time.
But now we're back. Warner Brothers settled all but one of the cases that
we knew about, leaving only poor Scott Allison without his domain name. We've
bowed out of the fight, dropped the boycott, but it still feels like a hollow
victory. But that's the victory we have to live with.
Now that the boycott is over, that doesn't mean that fan sites aren't still
susceptable to other threats. Hence why PotterWar/DADA is still around. We
hope to educate webmasters, teaching them how to keep their site from any
legal misfortune, while still having the freedom to operate.
Take a look around. There are plenty of resources available to protect your
site from corporate maliciousness. It's worth taking the time to guard yourself;
if we all are a little more careful, we can avoid PotterWars in the future.
I apologize for not taking the "hiatus" message down earlier. Not only was
I sick, I had a computer meltdown and lost my back-up disks. Whoopsies.
