Enter for your chance to win a printed, bound, autographed copy of Harry Potter and the Idolatry of Yore!

To commemorate the release of the end of the book we're inviting you to get out your paints, cameras, or pixels to design cover art for the printed edition of Meg McGonagall's infamous work of Harry Potter fan fiction. Any medium will be accepted, as long as you can capture the spirit and story of the Idolatry of Yore. Paint like Mary GrandPre, cartoon like the British covers of the real Harry Potter books, or come up with a style all your own. Is Harry Potter in dire need of modern art? Impressionism? Japanese sketching? It's all up to you! No preference will be given to one style or another, just as long as it fits the story.

All entries will be judged personally by the author, Meg McGonagall (Heather Lawver). Impress us; we're dying to see what you imagine when you read the Idolatry of Yore.

The Basics:

1) Entries can be any form of art, as long as it isn't obscene. It should be something appropriate for a Harry Potter cover.

2) There are no age limits, no limits on what kind of school you go to, or what country you live in.

3) Artwork must be original, or your entry will be disqualified.

4) Group entries will be accepted, but only one prize will be given. For example, if you and a friend create a painting, you can enter it together, but you'll have to fight over the book if you win.

5) If you're under 18 you absolutely must get your parent or legal guardian's permission, and have them sign the entry form. It's just a legal thing.

6) You have to read all of the official rules, because you'll also have to sign your entry form, saying you read it. And if you didn't, tsk tsk. (If you'd like to print them, you can download it in .doc format here)

7) You may enter up to five times, but each entry must be different artwork. (I.e. you can't make one drawing and submit it five times.) If you'd like to make a digital cover, then a painted one, then maybe a cartoon, you may submit each style. You must include a new entry form for each submitted piece of artwork. However, you may only win once!

8) Entries must be postmarked by August 31, 2002.

9) Entries must be mailed to:
