The First Annual Literacy Quest Charity Book Drive

Thousands of men and women are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, soldiers of militaries from many different countries. Many of the troops are restricted to staying on their bases during free time, due to the threatening nature of their environment. They have little, if nothing, to do to keep themselves occupied, or to help them relieve the stresses of their dangerous day to day lives. This is so hard on their morale, living in cramped quarters without any way to relax and have fun.

We'd like to make a difference and say thank you to the troops in a way that will make their lives easier. We're asking all Harry Potter fans all over the world to donate their used books by sending them to Daily Prophet headquarters. Your old books will then be packaged and shipped off to the soldiers in Iraq & Afghanistan, along with donations from many major American retailers, such as The Target Corporation. If you don't have any books to donate, then please send a letter to a soldier, expressing your gratitude. Don't know a soldier? That's okay - you can mail the letter to us, and we'll forward it for you. The soldiers need to know that we care and that we're thinking about them.
